Britney Spears was spotted shopping for baby clothes following her sister's pregnancy announcement

Britney Spears may have been the last in her family to know about her sister Jamie Lynn's pregnancy, but she appears to be embracing her impending role as an aunt.

The troubled pop star, rugged up in tracksuit pants and a fur hooded jacket, spent the afternoon buying baby clothes in LA.

Britney, who discovered 16-year-old's news after she went public with the announcement on the cover of a US magazine, was caught off guard by the news, but vowed to be supportive.

The 26-year-old may not be the best source of parenting advice however.

She has been locked in a bitter custody battle over her sons Sean Preston,2 and Jayden James, 1, after recently losing primary custody to ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Family members say Jamie Lynn, who stars in US TV show Zoey 101 is not yet planning a shotgun wedding to father's child Casey Aldridge, 19.

Casey's uncle, Baptist pastor Odus Jackson, said: "They may or may not [get married]. You just never know."

"I hope they will stick it out and get married for the child's sake and their sake."

Despite reports Casey could face charges of statutory rape, the Spears parents approve of the teen.

A close source says: "Lynne really likes him, too. He's a good kid, cares a lot about Jamie Lynn. They both adore Casey."
