Shilpa Shetty Wins Big Brother

Luffy | Monday, January 29, 2007 | 1comments
Bollywood Superstar Shilpa Shetty has won Channel 4's reality TV show "Celebrity Big Brother" and bagged an estimated 100,000 pounds (almost Rs 9 million) in prize money.

The results didn't come as a surprise because the leggy Indian star was tipped as the favorite to win.

This is what Shilpa says "I have zero expectations. The only thing I really hope to keep is my self-respect and my dignity."

Shilpa, 31, the first Indian to participate in the British TV show, was reportedly paid in excess of 40,000 pounds for her participation.

"She was leading all the betting sites," Shilpa's publicist Dale Bhagwagar said.

Shilpa's being on the show, which started January 3, didn't make as much news as the racist slurs hurled against her by her housemates, namely British contestant Jade Goody who has since been voted out by the audience.

Housemates Goody, Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara seemed to have ganged up against Shilpa during her stay.

She became the subject of their snide and biting comments because of her svelte figure, poise and charm, good dressing sense and background as a popular Bollywood actor.

The racist comments caused outrage in India and Britain, with the issue figuring in the House of Commons and feminist diva Germaine Greer, and even two Indian ministers, demanding corrective action.

Shilpa, who made her debut in Bollywood with the 1993 super hit "Baazigar" which also starred reigning superstar Shah Rukh Khan, never managed to touch the skies as a star. Her slinky dance numbers were more appreciated than her emoting.

But now her popularity ratings have soared suddenly - thanks to the controversial reality show.

"Hollywood film offers have started coming in. Apart form the US and Britain, offers are coming from Spain and Singapore too. Also, the Indian film industry suddenly seems to have woken up to the new Shilpa," said Bhagwagar.

Other contestants who participated in it were Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine, A-Team star Dirk Benedict, Donny Tourette of punk band The Towers of London, ex-Steps star Ian "H" Watkins and "Kenny Everett" Show actress Cleo Rocos.

She can get very angry and very jealous. When she knew the other person was possibly Scarlett, she was furious.

The two women have never been good friends, plus Scarlett had a relationship with Jared Leto, who Cameron had previously dated for four year," said an insider.

If you thought she was losing sleep over her break-up with Justin Timberlake. You're wrong. In fact, the actress is having a good time hanging on the beaches of Hawaii with champion surfer Kelly Slater..

Cameron Diaz isn't losing sleep over her break-up with Justin Timberlake. In fact, she's been hanging on the beaches of Hawaii with a new surfer buddy.

Cameron's been spotted around town with champion surfer Kelly Slater since her arrival in Oahu on Tuesday, sources told people magazine.

A source told them: "Someone saw Kelly with a really hot girl in his car and we looked ad it was her. They were just cruising around."

Kelly's no stranger to hot women - he's been linked in the past with supermodel Gisele Bundchen and Pamela Anderson...

So, are Cammy and Kelly more than just friends? Not so, according to his mum, Judy Slater.

Judy told in Touch Weekly: "They have been friends for a long time...

"Every time somebody sees somebody else eating dinner, they think it's romantic thing. It's silly."

But, Judy didn't dismiss that Cameron may be on the rebound:
"She might be - I don't know. She just called him and asked if she could come over for a few days. It was nothing they had planned.

Naomi visits witch doctor

Luffy | Wednesday, January 24, 2007 | 0 comments
The supermodel is reportedly consulting candomble spirits to control her fiery temper

Naomi Campbell is seeing a witch doctor in a bid to curb her fiery temper.

The supermodel flew to Rio de Janeiro last week to meet with Tuca Franchini, a Father Saint of the Candomble sect, which worships African gods, after she was sentenced in New York to five days community service for assaulting her maid.

Franchini who has been described as Naomi's 'spiritual guide' revealed the catwalk queen has a "Passionate" belief in the mystical faith.

He told Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper, "She's got very interested in it. She does not practice it as a faith, But she listens when I tell her the history because she is passionately involved in the roots of our African culture."

Franchini also defended the 36 year old beauty, insisting he had "never seen her lose her temper, become irritated or angry". He insisted the main purpose of Naomi's visit to the city was to meet with the mayor to discuss becoming a goodwill ambassador.

The model's spokeswoman has dismissed claims that she is seeking the help of Candomble spirits for anger management.

She said, "Naomi has many friends from various religions. She was not consulting Mr Franchini because of what happened in New York.

She flew to Rio to talk to the mayor about becoming a goodwill ambassador."

Want to know where Stone's Basic Instinct undies are?

Luffy | Tuesday, January 23, 2007 | 0 comments
Scriptwriter Joe Eszterhas, in a new book, reveals that director Paul Verheoven had kept Stone's scented panties that she took off in the famous leg-crossing scene

15 Years after Basic Instinct hit theater screens, director Paul Verhoeven has the prefect reminder of the famous leg-crossing scene in the flick ? Sharon Stone's undies.

Scriptwriter Joe Eszterhas, in a new book, revealed that Verhoeven had kept Stone's panties after convincing the actress to take them off for the scene.

And, if Eszterhas is correct, the director neither plans to give back the pair to stone, or sell it for some big bucks. "He probably won't sell the scented pair of panties Sharon took off and handed him,"

The Sun quoted him, as saying. Verhoeven reportedly asked Stone told her to take her panties off because they were visible through her dress.

what he failed to mention was that he had a camera filming between her legs. When stone saw the scene during the film's premiere, she was so offended that she stormed into the projection booth and slapped director Paul Verhoeven.

"I knew that we were going to do this leg crossing thing and I knew that we were going to allude to the concept that I was nude, but I did not think that you would see my Vagina in the scene," Stone later revealed.

"Later, when I saw it in the screening I was shocked. I think seeing it in a room full of strangers was so disrespectful and so shocking, so I went into the booth and slapped him and left," she said.

However, as shocked as she was by Verhoeven's methods, the actress also admitted that the scene not only helped make the movie the biggest act of the year, but also had her enter People Magazine's list for the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.
