Kate Moss's seventh Topshop collection

Luffy | Monday, September 08, 2008 | 0 comments
With a new Topshop store due to open in New York later this year - his first in the US - how Sir Philip Green must have been hoping that his star signing would pull her finger out, and design an extra-specially strong collection for the occasion.

It seems he may have got his wish: certainly, Kate Moss's seventh collection for the chain seems to be her most commercial yet.

Drawing on the rock chick look which has been her signature style ever since she turned 30, Moss's new collection features skinny jeans, fake fur gilets, slouchy knits and a raft of the tea dresses which have proved so popular each season with London’s army of Moss-alikes.
Star of the show: Kate Moss's Topshop swallow dress is set to be a hit

One, a flirty-skirted affair with a low sweetheart neckline, is guaranteed to be a sell-out. In midnight blue, it is emblazoned with the swallow print that Moss considers to be her 'signature motif', and was inspired by the small tattoo of two swallows that adorns her lower back.

But that's as feminine as it gets, with the rest of the collection a hard-edged paean to after-hours dressing.
Rock chic: The collection stays true to Moss's rock and roll roots
A cropped leather jacket spattered with studs, wet-look skinny jeans and a black faux fur jacket all provide the perfect uniform for watching underground gigs in poky Camden bars.

Kate Moss Topshop collection launches in British stores tomorrow and will be available online at topshop.com from 6am. Prices range from ?18 for a vest to ?130 for a premium dress.
Commercial: The signature style of skinny jeans, slouchy knits and faux fur coats and prices that start at ?18 will appeal to the Moss-alikes

golden glimpse of Marc Quinn's sculpture of Kate Moss

Luffy | Thursday, August 28, 2008 | 0 comments
She's been immortalised in bronze, painted in oils and photographed all over the world.

Now Kate Moss - fashion icon, mother and long time paparazzi favorite - has been paid the kind of compliment normally reserved for Egyptian queens and mythological goddesses. She has been sculpted in gold.

A new statue of the controversial model is to unveiled at the British museum for an exhibition in October.
A golden glimpse of Marc Quinn's sculpture of Kate Moss

The 34-year-old will join some of the nation's other great treasures, including a centuries old statue of a naked Aphrodite, on loan from the Queen.

This is the first teasing glimpse of the £1.5million likeness of Kate, one of a series by Marc Quinn, the artist responsible for the 'Alison Lapper Pregnant' sculpture that adorned the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square for 20 months.

The museum released only a detail of the Kate Moss work in the hope that the full image could remain private until its unveiling.

The statue, entitled 'Siren', depicts her in a yoga contortion. If it follows the theme of his previous Kate Moss works, it will place her feet somewhere near her ears and leave various other bits of her leotard-clad body inelegantly exposed to public gaze.
Model inspiration: Kate Moss was also captured in a yoga pose in plaster

The statue is said to be the largest of its kind since ancient Egyptian times. It is fashioned from solid gold. But because the statue is hollow, it weighs only 50 kilograms (110 lb) - possibly a little more than the waif-like subject on which it is modeled.

The £1.5million estimated value is believed to relate only to fabrication costs, financed between the artist and his gallery, White Cube. But the sculpture is certain to be worth far more if it is ever sold.

Moss has already proved irresistible to a succession of artists, including Lucian Freud, whose nude portrait of her sold for £3.9million in 2005.

Two years ago Quinn exhibited a painted bronze statue of Moss with her legs and arms knotted above her head. (Kate didn't do the yoga pose herself, incidentally - it was performed by a stand-in and her features were sculpted in later).

Quinn expressed a fascination with the 'mystery' of someone who had captured 'the spirit of the age', as he phrased it.

He believed her difficulties with the law - she escaped charges despite being videoed snorting a white powdered substance - made her image 'more potent'.

Yesterday the Croydon-born star - whose curves were on full display in Quinn's previous works and left precious little mystery for the spectator - appeared in an unconnected series of raunchy poses for a magazine photo-shoot.

She was quoted as saying she adores boobs and thinks breast implants sported by some of her friends are 'awful'.

The statue is to go on show at the British Museum from October 4 to January 25 as part of its 'Statuephilia' exhibition. The display is designed 'to highlight the perennial potency of sculpture' by showcasing the work of contemporary British artists, including Damien Hirst and Antony Gormley.

Kate Moss latest sexy photoshoot various states of undress

Luffy | Wednesday, August 27, 2008 | 0 comments
Kate Moss has stepped back in time for her latest sexy photoshoot, posing as a sultan's concubine in a steamy Turkish bath.

The 34-year-old supermodel poses in various states of undress as she writhes around the Çağlayan baths in Istanbul.

The atmospheric shots taken by leading photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott appear in the September issue of American magazine W.

W magazine and Moss appears to be having a growing business partnership this year - she has appear on the publication's cover twice before.

In the stunning photos, Moss is draped with exotic jewellery and clothes by some of the world's top designers, including Vera Wang, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney.

Local reports claim Moss drank shots of vodka to get in the mood for the sexy shoot.

Moss spent a few days in Turkey's biggest city in June for the shoot with her rocker boyfriend Jamie Hince.

As well as the sensuous shoot, the couple also visited an exhibition of Alas and Piggott's fashion photos.

Moss caused a stir by arriving at the gallery in a see-through dress, which raised a few eyebrows in the predominantly Muslim country.

Kate Moss sexiest photoshoot ever

Luffy | Tuesday, August 26, 2008 | 0 comments
She is notoriously reluctant to be interviewed, but Kate Moss has finally broken her silence - to launch a stinging attack on men.

Her scathing remarks on the opposite sex accompany one of the Croydon-born beauty's sexiest photoshoots ever.

The supermodel poses in a series of striking black and white photos, including one risqué shot which features Moss wearing nothing expect a pair of elbow-high gloves, for U.S. magazine Interview.

In one shot, a laid back Moss leans against the wall in a high-legged leotard, with her tiny waist 'crowned' by a unusual-looking belt made of metal wires.

For the feature, the 34-year-old covers up her long blonde hair with a short platinum blonde wig, harking back to the 1980s haircut of Blondie star Deborah Harry.

The supermodel, who is dating Kills frontman boyfriend Jamie Hince, reveals in the interview that she doesn't think terribly highly of the opposite sex.

'Absolute b******s. Men are not to be trusted,' she said.

She also boasts of her sexual abilities, admitting she has more experience with men in her thirties: 'I'm a lot better in the sack now.'
She also reveals her daughter, Lila, is a fashion freak and much-more strong willed than she was as a child.

The model also chose the interview as an excuse to pour water on rumours that she doesn't eat and is too skinny.

She said: 'I didn't eat for a long time. Not on purpose. You'd be on shoots with bad food or get on a plane and the food would be so disgusting you wouldn't eat it.'
'I never liked being that skinny. I was never anorexic, so I was never that skinny.'

Her comments, which also appear in this week's Grazia magazine, come as she was snapped enjoying a romantic night out with Hince.

Moss was pictured leaving pop star George Michael's house following the final leg of his two-year worldwide tour to mark the end of his live career.
As well as Moss and Hince, other guests in attendance were Matt Lucas and a mystery male companion.

And despite giving the rare interview, Moss proved she is still keen to avoid the paparazzi glare as she tried to shield herself from cameras by covering herself with a jacket.
Moss was styled by Karl Templer for the Interview shoot. The magazine is currently on sale in U.S. newsstands.

the supermodel frolicking with a group of tanned

Luffy | Saturday, August 02, 2008 | 0 comments
Kate Moss certainly isn't pining over the absence of on-off boyfriend Jamie Hince on her holiday in Spain this weekend.

Latest pictures from her holiday in Formentera this weekend show the supermodel frolicking with a group of tanned, topless men aboard a yacht moored just off the Spanish holiday island.
Hot stuff: Kate Moss has not been short of admirers as she soaks up the sun on the Spanish island of Formentera

Also in tow were her mother Linda and four-year-old daughter Lila Grace, looking the spitting image of her glamorous mother in a mini-version of the style icon's signature cut-off denim shorts.

Kate herself was the image of boho beach-chic sporting statement earrings with a printed sundress over her bikini. Later she changed into a floaty kaftan.
Wardrobe malfunction: Even Kate's well-chosen wardrobe isn't failsafe

The group were kept entertained as they soaked up the sun with a continuous supply of cigarettes and alcohol.

The break on the Spanish island, which is a stone's throw from Ibiza follows a break in the party hotspot with friend and colleague Philip Green, where Kate was seen enjoying dinner with the Topshop tycoon and his daughter.

It appears to have been one long holiday for Moss, who preceded her Spanish break with a holiday aboard a $20 million yacht in Sardinia. It is thought that the break with best friend Davinia Taylor and her husband Dave, was to take the model's mind off her troubles withKills rocker Hince.
Booze cruise: the group were well-stocked with cigarettes and alcohol

The couple's on-off status has been especially rocky of late following a break-up in early July. The pair appeared to have rekindled their romance last week, when they were spotted hand-in-hand during a shopping trip to Selfridges.

Kate Moss may have just signed up to a £3,000 private members’ gym, but it appears her health kick is on hold for the moment.

The supermodel kept her wine glass charged as she relaxed aboard a multimillion-pound luxury boat in Marbella over the weekend, later lighting up a cigarette as she chatted with friends.

The 34-year-old, who was dressed in a tiny strapless bikini, then retired to the upper deck, drizzling herself in oil for a spot of sunbathing.

Her rocker boyfriend Jamie Hince sat this trip out and instead performed at The Mighty Boosh day in Kent.

Kate recently joined the 25 Club in Mayfair, which boasts the best personal trainers in the world, where she has signed up for private session with a trainer and yoga classes.

While she intends for fitness to become her new addiction, it appears old habits die hard for party-loving Kate.

Kate Moss new campaign for luxury label Longchamp

Luffy | Friday, July 04, 2008 | 0 comments
Kate Moss proved she still has a certain je ne sais quoi in a new photo shoot set in Paris.

The 34-year-old teams up with emerging French actor Gaspard Ulliel, who is ten years her junior, in the latest campaign for luxury label Longchamp.

The supermodel was named the face of the brand in 2005, just months her front page drug scandal threatened to ruin her career.

Meanwhile, Kate's former boyfriend Pete Doherty is reportedly planning to reveal intimate details about their tumultuous relationship in a new autobiography.

The Babyshambles singer is said to be teaming up his friend and writer Sean Boru to write the 'intensely personal biography' which will focus on his ill-fated romance.

Boru was quoted in the Daily Star as saying: 'The whole premise of the book is Pete talking about Kate Moss and the sex and drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle they shared.
'I wrote to Pete when he was in jail about my experiences when I was a drug addict and we built a relationship.

'He knows I understand where he is coming from and this is the first book that properly details his private life with Moss - which is what everyone wants to read about.'

Kate Moss High Summer collection for TopShop

Luffy | Tuesday, May 20, 2008 | 0 comments
Kate Moss' summer collection looks set to be another success, as the 34-year-old modelled tiny hotpants, and the flouncy minidresses which form her new Bohemian luxe styled collection.

The model's 'High Summer' collection - no joke intended - her sixth for the high street giants - is expected to fly out of TopShop's flagship store in London's Oxford Street.

Other favourites included a striped 50's style 'prom' frock and a Rajasthani-style printed cotton halter-neck.

Although there were none of the crowds associated with the first launch last year, it's clear that Kate's collection is still proving a hit with fashionable shoppers.

The Bohemian styled collection ranges in price from £10 for a vest to £150 for a premium dress.

Nude photos of Gisele Bundchen and Kate Moss

Luffy | Monday, March 10, 2008 | 0 comments
They are among fashion's highest paid models, paid thousands to model designer clothes.

But in these rarely seen photos, the only outfit they needed to show off was their birthday suits.

Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen are among several celebrities featured in a stunning collection of photography which is set to go under the hammer Christie's auction house in New York.

The tastefully shot nudes show a young, unspoilt Kate Moss, and an Amazonian looking Gisele Bundchen shot by photographer Irving Penn.

Kate's photo is expected to fetch $30-40,000 (£15-£20,000) at auction, as is Brazilian Gisele's.

The photographs are taken from collector Gert Elfering extensive collection which will be auctioned off at Christie's next month.

It's expected to fetch in excess of £2-3million.
For sale: The auction will take place at Christie's auction house in New York on April 10

Among the images on offer are portraits of 60s icon Brigitte Bardot and a reclining nude of American actress Lauren Hutton and a set of four psychedelic Beatles portraits all by celebrated fashion photographer Richard Avedon.

Elfering, 49, one of the world's foremost collectors of 20th-century photography, owns iconic prints by such greats as Helmut Newton, Avedon, Man Ray, Robert Mapplethorpe, Guy Bourdin, Cindy Sherman, Diane Arbus and legendary photographer Horst P. Horst.

He first encountered the work of Horst in the early Eighties when the then 25-year-old German walked into Hamilton's Gallery while vacationing in London.

Elfering recalled he was instantly taken with the dramatic portraits but was unable to afford even a single print.

Instead, he left with a book and a poster. In 1998 he acquired the complete Horst archive.

"It just shows," says Elfering, "how times can change."

"I started with a book and a poster, then moved on to smaller prints, then more expensive ones, and finally the estate," says Elfering.

And now he's letting most of it go - 135 lots - in a sale in New York on April 10, 2008.

But not before giving the public a chance to see them one more time.

Kate Moss on a recent shoot for YSL

Luffy | Saturday, February 23, 2008 | 0 comments
She has been criticised for looking worryingly thin but Kate Moss may yet become a more suitable role model.

The 34-year-old is embarking on a healthy-eating regime apparently in the hope that it will boost her fertility.

"Kate is taking her diet and health seriously," says an insider.

"She has been taking extra iron supplements and stocking up on spinach and greens."

The party-loving supermodel is also said to be planning to give up alcohol and coffee.

Kate has been dating The Kills frontman Jamie Hince following her split from Babyshambles rocker Pete Doherty last June and I'm told the couple have already discussed a baby.

"Kate is desperate to have another child," my source adds.

"She loosely follows the same diet as Gwyneth Paltrow does, which is Dr Nish Joshi's cleansing diet, but she has tailored it around trying to get pregnant."

Stunning: Kate Moss campaign for French brand Longchamp

Luffy | Wednesday, February 20, 2008 | 0 comments
At the age of 34, it did seem that finally Kate Moss's hard-partying ways were beginning to take their toll on her million-pound looks.

A night out on the town at the start of the week showed the supermodel looking rather worse for wear as she partied until the early hours.

However, her latest modelling pictures show Moss back on top form - looking stunning and sexy with a flawless complexion and her trademark ethereal beauty.
Moss looked slightly worse for wear yesterday (right) after a night out in London. However in her latest modelling pictures, Moss resembles the supemodel she is

Posing with a huge designer handbag, a Marilyn Monroe-esque blonde bob and body-hugging black basque, it's not hard to see why after 20 years in the business, Moss is still one of the world's most in-demand models.

It has been a different story for Moss away from the flattering lenses of fashion photographers however, with wrinkles beginning to appear around her eyes and her hair adopting a scraggy look.
From glamourpuss to haggard partygoer: the two faces of Kate Moss
Last night in London, Moss shows some-not-so model looks. There are wrinkles round her eyes and her hair is far-from-sleek, unlike her appearance in numerous ad campaigns

The model has increasingly been seen looking dishevelled after excessive partying with boyfriend Jamie Hince.

On Monday night, the couple made a visit to a private members' club in the capital's exclusive Mayfair area, before visiting a friend's house in Kensington.
Moss is worth an estimated £30m after 20 years in the business. In the year following her drug scandal in 2005, she reportedly raked in £12m

At 1.30am, as she returned to her home in North London, Moss was looking haggard as she puffed away on a cigarette.

In fact the model looked in a world of her own, as she and Hince kept their distance in the back of their car.

But last night, it was a different story, with the couple acting like a pair of loved-up teenagers as they left China Tang at London's Dorchester hotel.

They were there to celebrate owner David Tang's knighthood from the Queen yesterday.
Moss and boyfriend Jamie Hince behave like loved-up teenagers last night after leaving The Dorchester in London, but on Monday night it was a different story.

Despite the model's whirlwind social life, she has never let her personal life clash with her work commitments.

Besides raking in an impressive personal fortune of £30million, Moss has also proved to be a successful designer.

Her popular range for Topshop boosted sales by more than 10 per cent last year.
