Luffy | Wednesday, January 30, 2008 | 0 comments
Kylie Minogue continues her stunning comeback with the release of two new video clips for the next singles from her new album 'X'.

The singer rediscovered her 80s roots for her track In My Arms, stepping back in time with fluoro eye-shadow and large curls reminiscent of her famous Neighbours do.

And in the new clip for Wow, which has received rave reviews from celebrity watchers including Perez Hilton, the pop princess ventures out of this world in an astronaut-inspired jumpsuit.

The Australian star opted for a striking futuristic platinum blonde bob, and is shown writhing around illuminated poles in a heaving club.

Kylie, who filmed the clips during a recent trip to LA earlier this month, has maintained a hectic schedule while promoting the album, the first since recovering from breast cancer in 2006.

However, she briefly indulged in a little relaxation while in Paris earlier this week.

She was spotted catching up with her former boyfriend Olivier Martinez after taking his Rhodesian ridgeback, Sheba, for a walk on Monday.

Later, she showed off her best moves as she enjoyed a short dance with a street performer before leaving the French capital.

She had been watching the breakdancer perform as she waited to board the Eurostar at Nord station and showed her appreciation by dropping 10 Euros into his bucket.

Wow hits shops on February 18, with In My Arms to follow. Kylie starts a new European tour in May.

Kylie and her famous rear immortalised in bronze (but its posed by a body double)

Luffy | Friday, November 23, 2007 | 0 comments
Pop star Kylie Minogue - and her famous rear - have been immortalised in bronze in a statue unveiled in her home town Down Under.

The life-size likeness, complete with lace body stocking and high-heels, will stand alongside fellow Australian entertainment greats in a Hollywood-style Walk of Fame at Melbourne's Docklands.

The figure took three months to fashion and was posed for by a waitress whose measurements are almost identical to Kylie's.

'Ultimate Kylie': The diminutive statue is 5ft high, just like Kylie

It is the work of sculptor Peter Corlett, who said he was inspired by Minogue's Showgirl tour to create a statue representing the "ultimate Kylie" .

He worked with the 39-year-old singer's management and dressmakers in London to get her body measurements, right down to the size of her wrist.

The body double, a dancer from Sydney, was then able to replicate the Minogue pose to help the Australian sculptor produce the final version.

The statue is part of a Variety Entertainers of the Century display.

Mr Corlett is still in negotiations over a similar statue of Melbourne's other famous lady, Dame Edna Everage, whom he would like to place near Kylie on the Walk of Fame.

Waitress Sophia James, 27, said the modelling assignment was "a one-in-a-million opportunity".

She enthused: "I'm a great fan of Kylie.

"When I was younger I always tried to hide my bottom which is quite curvy, like hers.

"I'm glad singers like Kylie and J.Lo have made it fashionable to have some curves."

Kylie gets back in the saddle for TV special

Kylie Minogue is set to send her fans wild by performing on a bucking bronco.

Wearing a conical basque and fishnet tights, Minogue rides the leather bronco to perform a new song, Sensitized, on an ITV special.

The scantily-clad Crazy Horse Girls have been flown in from Paris to dance around the pint-sized star on a specially-built cabaret set.

This isn't the first time the sexy singer has gone for a ride.

Kylie rode a velvet bronco machine for lingerie brand Agent Provocateur's 2001 advert wearing only a bra and knickers.

The advert was so racy it was banned from television, playing in cinemas for 18-certificate features only.

Fortunately, viewers will get the chance to watch her in action again on the ITV show.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will also perform with the Australian pop princess on the ITV1 show, broadcast on Saturday night.

Creative director William Baker has worked alongside Minogue, 39, for The Kylie Show, which is being recorded this week.

Programme bosses are promising a "truly lavish and spectacular show".

Minogue said: "Working with ITV on this special has been an incredibly exciting experience.

"My creative team and I are preparing a fabulous evening with a mixture of old songs, new songs and lots of surprises thrown into the mix as well."

The Kylie show is broadcast at 9.35pm on Saturday night.

Kylie returns as 'Marilyn Minogue' in raunchy new video

Luffy | Wednesday, October 10, 2007 | 0 comments
Pop princess Kylie Minogue has reprised her Marilyn Monroe look in a sexy film clip for her new single 2 Hearts.

The 39-year-old star has burst back onto the music scene wearing a plunging layered black ensemble, lashings of red lipstick and blonde bombshell curly locks reminiscent of the 1950s sex symbol.

The track, which is the first release since she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, was written and produced by Kish Mauve, a London four-piece electro outfit.

Kylie began recording the album when she was still battling breast cancer.

She said: "I had just taken my scarf off [the headscarf she wore to conceal her hair loss during cancer treatment] and wanted to reassure myself I could still do what I did before."

"So the first chance I got, I went into the studio for a week and went nuts."

The singer is also set to mark her pop comeback with a TV special.

Rather than a concert-style performance, the singer and her long-time creative director William Baker have devised a "visual experience" to accompany each track.

Kylie said: "My creative team and I are preparing a fabulous evening with a mixture of old songs, new songs and lots of surprises thrown into the mix as well."

Earlier this week she picked up the Idol accolade at the Q Awards for a career spanning three decades and more than 40 million global album sales.

Accepting the award, she joked: "I would like to thank those of you who continued to support me - including my dress."

"It's my first day back at work like this so it's very exciting and slightly nerve-wracking," she admitted as she arrived.

Of her Q Idol award, she told the audience: "Just don't ask me what it means, but I'm very grateful and honoured to be receiving this."

Kylie's single 2 Hearts is out on November 12 and her album, X, on November 26.

Barely-there Kylie shows Martinez what he's missing

Luffy | Monday, August 27, 2007 | 0 comments
There are many tactics a woman can use in the great game of love, some of them more reliable than others.

By playing hard to get, for instance, or flirting outrageously with a man's friends, a girl could forfeit the match.

At 39, Kylie Minogue is obviously well aware of the safest route to goal ... a killer outfit with a new hairdo.

While her on-off boyfriend Olivier Martinez remained in his native France, the singer dined out at The Ivy restaurant in London in the tiniest and tight-est of dresses.

The peach, purple and navy frock left nothing to the imagination and proved she is in peak form after her battle with breast cancer.

For good measure, she teamed it with sexy gold stiletto heels, an Yves Saint Laurent handbag and her jaunty new corkscrew-curl haircut.

Her dazzling appearance comes weeks after it emerged that she and Martinez, 41, are giving their four-year affair another go.

The pair split in February amid reports that Martinez had cheated on her.

They are now understood to be on a three-month trial - on Miss Minogue's terms.

The Australian singer is said to have told Martinez that he must propose, or they are finished for good.

"Kylie is resolute that he won't hurt her again," said a friend.

"She is living life to the full and is looking utterly radiant. As a result, Olivier is now the one doing all the running."

Director dumped by his wife over friendship with Kylie

Luffy | Sunday, August 19, 2007 | 0 comments
The Chilean film director whom Kylie Minogue developed a close friendship with earlier this year has been dumped by his furious wife.

Laura Dahm walked out on her husband Alexander just weeks after giving birth to their child, blaming his friendship with the Australian pop princess.

Sources close to the couple claim that Dahm's infatuation with Kylie has destroyed his marriage with Laura "utterly humiliated and in despair".

"She told him she had had enough and was leaving him," the Sunday Mirror reported.

"Poor Laura just couldn't cope with her husband being so obviously smitten with another woman.

"At the start she chose to believe there was nothing going on.

"But after the baby - their second child - was born three weeks ago, things became clearer in her mind.
Kylie Minogue1
Friends claims that Kylie and Alexander's friendship has led to his wife walking out on him

Kylie was repeatedly pictured with Dahm in May after meeting the 39-year-old in Mexico during a photo-shoot for her H&M bikini range.

They were photographed enjoying a cosy dinner together but both parties strenuously denied that they were romantically involved.

Kylie went so far as to release a statement insisting that it was "offensive" to suggest that she would have an affair with a married man
Kylie Minogue2
Laura Dahm has reportedly walked out on her husband

She said: "I have never been unfaithful to a partner and would find it completely immoral to be involved with a married man."

Kylie and Dahm are still in touch and are reportedly finalising plans to meet up again next month. Friends say that they hope to meet at a European hideaway.

When news of their friendship first broke Laura defended her husband stating:

"We've been married seven years and I've heard of the 'seven-year itch', but I trust Alexander and he would never leave me for Kylie."
Kylie Minogue3
Kylie and Olivier are thought to be getting back together

But their bond may have proven too much for Laura - a highly successful lawyer - to bear.

She moved out of the third-floor Mexico City apartment she shares with her husband two weeks ago to stay with her father - taking their two children, newborn Mila and three-year-old Matias.

"She knew she couldn't live with his behaviour for the rest of her life, not even for the sake of their children." said a source.

"What woman would be prepared to put up with a husband whose mind is so obviously elsewhere?

"The fact that it is Kylie - one of the world's most famous women - makes it all the more gut-wrenching for her.

"She is blaming Kylie's presence in her husband's life for the marriage becoming unworkable.

Yesterday Laura Dahm insisted that her marriage was not in trouble. Speaking from her parent's home, she said: "I had my baby three weeks ago and am resting here"

"There is nothing wrong with me and Alex."

Kylie has recently been spotted with former love Olivier Martinez and the pair are rumoured to be rekindling their relationship. They split in February after four years together.

Kylie's dirty dance with Sharon Stone

Luffy | Thursday, May 24, 2007 | 0 comments
They were a sight for sore eyes - a pop-princess and a Hollywood sex symbol, dirty-dancing in the name of charity in front of a star-studded audience in Cannes.

Sexy hostess Sharon Stone joined singer Kylie Minogue onstage for a sizzling duet coupled which brought the house down after cajoling the singer into an impromptu performance.

Kylie agreed to sing two songs - with Stone providing the backing - after an audience in Cannes agreed to donate £200,000 a tune to an Aids charity.

The annual American Foundation for Aids Research party has established itself as one of the social highlights of the Cannes film festival and this year's event, held at Le Moulin de Mougins, did not disappoint.

Minogue, firmly back on the scene after her much publicised battle with cancer, agreed to sing Can't Get You Out Of My Head and The Locomotion - after £ 400,000 was raised. Stone, who hosted last night's event, could not resist the opportunity to sing along.

The guests, who had paid £2,500 each for their tickets, could not have been more delighted. They are reported to have whooped and hollered at the climax of each song.

This year's charity party attracted some of the biggest names in Hollywood, among them George Clooney, Matt Damon, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, as well as supermodels Claudia Schiffer, Elle Macpherson and Naomi Campbell.

Campbell, who celebrated her 37th birthday two days ago, said: "I was roped into this by Sharon. I'll do anything for her."

Michelle Rodriguez, the Lost actress who has been linked to Minogue's ex Olivier Martinez, was also at the event but said of the Frenchman: "He's just a good friend."

Others performing included Julian Lennon and the burlesque artiste Dita Von Teese. She gave what one report described as a "trademark" dance, performing around a giant 9ft lipstick.

Kylie, 38, has been a busy lady of late, and it seems is plotting world domination.

As the singer left her London home with her ever-present stylist William Baker, he held an envelope on which appeared to be scribbled evidence of her non-stop agenda.

It starts with the word "mugs", suggesting she needs to do some shopping for the kitchen.

Next comes the phrase "tour next year".

Her Showgirls world tour only ended a few months ago. Fans will be thrilled to learn she plans another so soon.

Next is a note to remind her about her deal with Coty perfume. The 37-year-old was signed up as the face of the scent this spring.

Then come the words "Songs to Parkinson" – perhaps a reference to tracks she plans to sing on the ITV chat show.

The next note appears to relate to Miss Minogue producing promotional material for a film project.

Then "Acting coach number" is followed by "When Dr Who script arriving?" and "Russell’s number" – which most likely refers to Miss Minogue’s wish to get the phone number of Russell T Davies, head writer of BBC’s most recent Doctor Who series.

She is soon to have a role in the sci-fi drama.

Kylie's makeover a sensational step back in time

Luffy | Tuesday, May 15, 2007 | 0 comments
Kylie Minogue may be attracting attention with the male company she keeps, but all eyes were on her new hair do as she stepped out in New York.

Her ultra fair locks channelled 70s icon Blondie, while her outfit was also a nod to retro style - a figure hugging psychedelic print dress.

Oversized black shades and trademark megawatt smile completed the singer's head-turning look.

Minogue, who was treated for breast cancer last year, was leaving the ritzy Waverly restaurant in SoHo and is clearly making the most of her time in the Big Apple.

The following night she attended a Dior fashion show, opting for a more demure black dress and stylish fan accessory, where she joined a list of A-list stars, including Charlize Theron, Penelope Cruz and Dita Von Teese.

Minogue put on a brave face at the event in light of recent controversy surrounding her relationship with married director Alexander Dahm.

Last week, the 38-year-old hit back at claims she was having an affair with him, saying: "I have never been unfaithful to a partner and would find it completely immoral to be involved with a married man."

Dahm's wife Laura, a high-powered lawyer, has defended Minogue in the face of affair rumours, saying: "This can't be easy for Kylie. She's recently ended a relationship."

Minogue, who split with Olivier Martinez earlier this year, has continued to hit headlines by stepping out with another mystery man while in New York.

Meanwhile, the pop princess is reportedly looking to put her troubled romantic life behind her with a sea change - rumours are swirling that she is set to buy a four-bedroom £3.5million mansion in Brighton.

Visible Bra Straps: The fashion faux pas of the summer

Luffy | Friday, May 11, 2007 | 0 comments
This summer's biggest fashion faux pas is the VBS - or Visible Bra Strap - according a new survey.

Displaying the rogue straps, which frequently slip out from behind tiny blouse sleeves, is the most disastrous and "cheap looking" gaffe a woman can make this year, according to the poll.

The style crime, frequently committed by celebrities including Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse, echoes the infamous VPL, or visible panty line.

Other no-no's include chipped nail varnish at number two on the list, too skimpy skirts, wearing sock with sandals and revelaing thongs, according to the survey by Wonderbra.

The survey found 57 per cent of women - and 42 per cent of men - found the VBS a turn-off, labelling it "unattractive".

A third of women said it looked "cheap".

With record breaking temperatures predicted this summer the number of women wearing skimpy, bra revealing clothes is set to soar and the female population is on course for months of fair weather fashion dilemmas.

More than a quarter, 26 per cent, of frustrated women admitted tucking bra straps into their tops in an effort to keep them hidden, while 24 per cent say they go bra-less and 23 per cent reach for bikini tops instead.

Other tricks to disguise their embarrassment include cutting the straps off, wearing a strapless bra, buying a new top, wearing a vest underneath, buying a new bra, using see through straps and wearing decorative straps.
The only thing more distracting than Amy Winehouse's missing tooth is her black and green lingerie

When it comes to which garments cause the most grief, off the shoulder tops (64 per cent), shoestring vests (63 per cent), halter-necks (63 per cent), plunging necklines (63 per cent) and strapless tops (62 per cent) were all cited as the biggest culprits for causing VBS.

Wonderbra marketing director Tracy Hayward said: "One hundred years after the launch of the bra it is amazing to think women are still unable to find the right fit for their clothes.

"Fashion has evolved to bring us all these fabulously varied styles and with the new Multiplunge, the bra has finally come of age too."

The survey of more than a thousand adults also found we are a nation of fashion spies, with 87 per cent of women and 70 per cent of men having spotted VBS on other people.

Socks with sandals were seen by 78 per cent of the population, while 67 per cent have spotted knicker showing skirts.

And it is in the street where the VBS crime is committed the most, with 89 per cent of people noticing it out and about.

Nightclubs, bars and restaurants are also places to spot the VBS.

In the wake of their study Wonderbra will be visiting cities across the country with its 'Strap Squad' showing off Wonderbra's revolutionary Multiplunge, which can be fastened in 100 different ways.

It was her night and hers alone. But Kylie Minogue certainly hadn't expected to arrive by herself. Not that she was showing her disappointment. Days after a painful break-up with French actor Olivier Martinez, She could have been forgiven for staying home under the duvet.

Martinez, said to have cavorted with three different women in Los Angeles while Miss Minogue toured Britain in her comeback concerts remained in the US.

He will soon be joined by 100,000 of his belongings, gathered up from Miss Minogue's homes in London and Sydney and sent by FedEx air courier.

"Kylie has been in absolute turmoil but she said the show must go on," One said. "She had FedEx-ed all his property to Los Angeles, where he is staying.

"What has gone back includes an antique pair of diamond earrings and a friendship ring he gave her.

"Also couriered were all of his clothes and personal belongings, including tow leather jackets by Claude Montana, Cashmere jumpers and Hermes shoes, five Dunhill shirts, Six pairs of Giorgio Armani jeans, his aftershave, moisturiser, all books and records and CDs they brought together in flea markets in Paris while Kylie was in recovery and other things like film scripts he left behind."
